Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
The successful applicant will assist in the delivery of services to Clients in the MS Centre.As a Healthcare Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of services in the MS Centre under the direction of the clinical and support staff and reporting to the Manager in situ.
The CE participant will work under the direction and supervision of a qualified practitioner at all times.
To work as a member of a team under the leadership of the MS NW Therapy Centre which seeks to promote the wellbeing of all clients attending MS NW Therapy Centre: Provide high standards of care to clients throughout their treatments.
Maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality.Encourage clients to engage in-house activities such as classes etc.
Foster a professional and friendly atmosphere at the MS NW Therapy Centre.
Carry out the role of physiotherapy assistant supporting the Physiotherapy team in the MS Centre (shadowing position only).
Work as part of the oxygen technician team supporting Clients attending for oxygen therapy (shadowing position only).
Assist the physio and support staff on the delivery of online and in-person exercise classes under the supervision and guidance of a Physiotherapist (shadowing position only).
Ensure MS NW Therapy Centre is a safe environment for clients and staff by reporting any accidents/incidents to the manager/staff member on duty.
Maintain the upkeep of the MS Centre which will include daily cleaning duties e.g., steaming, hoovering floors, keeping all areas clean and tidy adhering to daily cleaning schedules.
Conduct regular checks of the Centre and grounds or more often in particular circumstances, identifying and addressing any safety or fire hazards.
To maintain the Centre and grounds at the direction of the manager including cleaning and seasonal decoration.
To ensure high levels of communication are upheld and appropriate written and or verbal handovers at the end of each shift at the MS NW Therapy Centre.
To attend such meetings as the manager arranges.
To participate in supervision with their appointed Physiotherapist and Manager of the service.
To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with your Manager.
To adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations as per the organisations Health & Safety Statement and the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, 2005.
To implement all organisational policies and procedures including health and safety management system, food safety and IQ Quality System.
To develop and maintain positive professional working relationships with other services in the organisation and with external service providers.
Carry out other tasks as directed by Management.
This role will require the post holder to study towards a major award in Healthcare (QQI L5) or already hold this qualification.
