Senior Project Manager, Construction, Architecture & Engineering - Capital Plan Projects, Ireland South

Are you ready to make a difference in the future of healthcare infrastructure in Ireland? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join the Technical Services team with our Public Sector client and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, sustainable capital projects across acute and non-acute healthcare facilities.

Purpose of the Role

To provide engineering and technical support for the planning, delivery, and execution of the Capital Plan projects—ranging from large-scale healthcare builds to minor capital works—ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

You will be at the heart of capital project development, working closely with service and estates personnel to:

  • Lead on the development and delivery of capital projects—from concept through to commissioning.
  • Develop briefs, supervise design teams, and oversee procurement, planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Manage consultation processes, compliance with statutory requirements, and resolution of project-related issues.
  • Lead contract and financial management, reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to maintenance and energy efficiency planning for healthcare estates.
  • Collaborate with the Property Manager on estate portfolio strategy and compliance with property protocols.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Essential:

  • A Level 8 qualification in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying and/or membership/eligibility for membership of:
  • Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland
  • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Engineers Ireland
  • Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
  • A minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience in construction, project management, or facilities engineering.
  • Proven experience in managing capital projects, design teams, budgets, and contractor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare facility requirements, building maintenance, and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and team leadership skills.

Desirable:

  • Contract or client-side project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of HIQA standards and energy efficiency principles in healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements:

  • Full driving license and access to transport is essential due to travel between sites.
