Tipperary County Council has supported Community Employment Schemes since their introduction in 1985, in partnership with the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection. The Scheme sponsored by the Roads Directorate operates over various locations including the towns and environs of Cahir, Cashel, Clonmel and Tipperary Town and the communities of Boherlahan, Clonoulty/Clogher, Holycross, Kilsheelan and Rosegreen with approval for 30 № participants.
The Community Employment Scheme involves a range of activities including:
Horticultural, landscaping and environmental improvement projectsMaintenance works in parks, towns, and cemeteries
Environmental work/Driver/Road Crossing Warden.
Tipperary County Council currently has a vacancy for a CE Scheme Assistant Supervisor based in Cashel Co. Tipperary. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will initially be employed on a 12-month contract, renewed annually, subject to DSP funding.
This role requires the successful candidate to assist the CE Supervisor in ensuring the effective and efficient administration and co-ordination of the human, financial, and material resources of the project.
Duties include but are not limited to.Assist in the preparation of CE Financial returns (wages, materials & training)
Assist in the recording and maintenance of CE Paperwork and IT systems
Fully participate in training provided by the Sponsor and the DSP.
Ability to work under the Chairperson's direction to effectively implement the CE Program in line with the CE Operational Procedures.
Assist the CE Supervisor in sourcing and costing effective training/development opportunities to meet the training needs identified in a participant's Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
Assist in ensuring the CE Scheme complies with financial and program & training as detailed in the CE Financial Guidelines for Sponsors and CE Procedures Manual.
To provide effective supervisory cover in the absence of the CE Supervisor when needed, if qualified for the post.
To assist in the planning and coordination of the daily program and work schedules with the participants
RequirementsHave a reasonable understanding of the role of an Assistant CE Supervisor
Previous experience in Office Administration
Have a good knowledge of MS Office, computerised accounts and payroll
Have a good communication and Interpersonal skills
Have competent writing and reporting skills
Have skills related to people management through previous work experience.
Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
CE Assistant Supervisor Rates Apply. Commencing at €526.50 per week on a 3 point scale.
