Energywise Savings Ireland Ltd requires Dairy Farm Assistants for their premises at Hollymount Industrial Estate, Blarney Road, Co. Cork, T23NA44.
The salary range starts from €34,000 (16.77/hr) to €54,000 (26.63/hr) based on a 39-hour week. Salary will increase proportionately if additional hours are required. Salary offered shall be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachinery Operation: Operate various types of farm machinery, including
tractors, milking machines, feeding equipment, and slurry tanks, ensuringefficient and safe handling.
Milking Duties: Assist in the daily milking routine using advanced milkingsystems, maintaining optimal hygiene standards and ensuring animal welfare.
Feeding Management: Use machinery to mix and distribute feed accurately to
livestock, monitoring feed levels and ensuring dietary requirements are met.
Field Work: Support the preparation and maintenance of fields for grazing and
silage production using machinery like mowers, balers, and loaders.
Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and minor repairs of farm
machinery to ensure smooth operations and prevent downtime.
Record Keeping: Maintain logs of machinery use, servicing schedules, and farm
activity records for compliance and operational efficiency.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the farm manager and other staff to
achieve daily and seasonal farm goals.
RequirementsProven experience in farming, particularly in operating and maintaining farm
machinery. Ideally dairy farming.
Knowledge of modern farming practices and a commitment to animal welfare.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor mechanical repairs.
Understanding of health and safety regulations related to farm operations.
Physical fitness and readiness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of
a team.
Valid driver’s licence and familiarity with Irish agricultural machinery is a plus
