Application Details

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Job Description

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivery Planning:
  • Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize travel time.
  • Prioritize deliveries based on urgency and distance.
Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure it is safe and roadworthy.
  • Report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
Loading and Unloading:
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Take care to protect items during transportation.
Customer Interaction:
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including delivering items to the correct address and answering any questions.
Documentation:
  • Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery notes and proof of delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and mileage.
  • Adherence to Regulations:
  • Comply with all relevant road traffic regulations and company policies.
  • Drive defensively and safely at all times.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Valid Driver's License: A clean driving record is essential.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items.
  • Time Management Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Customer Service Skills: Friendly and helpful demeanour.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate and thorough in completing tasks.
  • Reliable and Punctual: Consistent attendance and timekeeping.
