Senior QA Projects Lead

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Projects Quality Assurance (QA) Lead on a specified purpose contract for 12 Months in the IT Delivery Division. This role is aligned with the Bank Professional 2 grade and the BP2 salary scale, between €87,306 and €110,059 applies.Please click here for further information on our salary scales.
The purpose of the role is ensure all Quality Assurance responsibilities on a project (or projects), of varying complexity, are delivered in line with documented approach and commitments around timeline and cost, providing support to less experience colleagues, in order to ensure that the desired business outcomes are achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver QA services for given projects within the agreed time, cost and coverage boundaries and in line with all QA processes, procedures and standards. Work collaboratively with the IT Project Manager in order to support business priorities. Do this in person on large complex projects or via the delegated use of Projects QA Leads where necessary and appropriate.
- Ensure that the Central Bank’s IT Quality Assurance overarching set of policies and processes are followed, collaborating with various IT stakeholders to support business priorities. Agree any exceptions to standard roles and responsibilities with the IT Project Manager as necessary so that a consistent approach to delivery is maintained as much as possible.
- Represent the Quality Assurance approach for the project(s) at appropriate forums such as Technical Authority Assessment, Change Approval Board, Project Leadership Teams etc. in collaboration with the IT Project Manager in order to safeguard the integrity of the production systems and to ensure the needs of the business sponsors are met.
- Take responsibility for the day to day oversight of team members to include the provision of on the-job training, relevant skills transfer, coaching, mentoring and on-going feedback to team members to share expertise and ensure the necessary skills, competencies and knowledge are being developed in order to ensure that optimal Quality Assurance services are provided so that staff can develop their careers for their good and the good of the Central Bank.
- Identify resourcing requirements for the projects- numbers/skills/knowledge/competencies, involving a likely mix of Central Bank staff and contractor QA resources, and liaise with the Senior Process QA Lead in this regard to ensure they are appropriately assigned and sufficient.
- Monitor and allocate project resources throughout the project to ensure timely progress, keeping all relevant stakeholders advised of progress and/or challenges being encountered, escalating as appropriate to the Quality Assurance Manager and IT Project Manager so that project progress is maintained in line with commitments.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement at both a delivery and project level and feed into the appropriate processes (After Action Review etc.) so that changes can be made to the advantage of the business as to how the division delivers projects.
- Stay abreast of QA industry developments in order to identify emerging trends that could be implemented in order to maintain the most efficient approaches to QA for the businesss
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager by providing input into the development of the function’s strategic direction in order to drive an optimised QA service for the business.
Requirements:
- Leaving cert, Diploma and Degree in ISTQB in Software Testing or equivalent.
- Typically 7 year+ experience in a software quality assurance environment with experience of shaping QA strategy and managing senior QA personnel
- Very strong technical skills including Advanced Quality Assurance, Effective Vendor management, Effective resource supply and demand management, Effective projects planning & management, Basic Software Delivery, Lifecycle Management, Effective development environment management
- Very strong Interpersonal skills including Effective Relationship Management, Advanced communications & reporting, Effective influencing skills, Effective coaching and mentoring.
- Behavioural competencies such as Information Seeking, Analytical Thinking, Teamwork & Collaboration, Stakeholder Focus.
- It may be necessary for this role to travel on occasion, within Ireland and abroad, in order to build relationships with external stakeholders such as software vendors and to ensure that any such relationships are built and maintained in a manner that will ensure quality deliverables into the Central Bank when required
