Application Details

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Day Care Assistant

Lourdes Day Care Centre

Location: Lourdes Day Care Centre, Lower Sean McDermott Street, D1
Contract Duration: 12 months
Wage: Current Welfare rate plus €22.50 CE allowance per week
Days per week: 5 days (Flexible)
Hours per week: 19.5 hours per week

Training: Accredited training is provided to support your progression into full-time employment

Job description:

The Day Care Assistant will work with The Lourdes Day Care Centre team to provide our clients with a meaningful day that would include social interaction, mental stimulation and physical engagement. Including but not limited to:

Assist with Physio & Occupational Therapy sessions
Play a variety of games such as call Bingo
Help to plan and join in activities
Assist the meals on wheels delivery when required
Assist with serving lunches - give morning/afternoon tea

Assist with keeping the table and chairs clean

Assist in carrying out daily activities and tasks as directed by the manager to meet the needs of the clients and the service

Desirable qualities include a caring nature, the ability to communicate with older people and to work as part of a team.
