Manufacturing Engineer
The position requires a manufacturing engineer to work in the company’s European Distribution and Customer Service hub, in Athenry or designated location.
Responsibilities include:
- Automation Support: Support of automation machinery alongside process monitoring ensuring minimal downtime.
- Equipment Qualification: Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including report writing.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Process Design & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Assist in the transition of new products from the development stage to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
- Equipment & Tooling: Evaluate and implement new machinery, tooling, and automation systems to enhance production capabilities.
- Lean Manufacturing: Apply Lean principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to streamline production processes, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet quality standards and that products comply with industry regulations and customer specifications.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality to ensure alignment on manufacturing goals and objectives.
- Health, safety & environmental: Follow all health, safety & environmental rules and procedures and participate in safety and environmental activities in order to improve the workplace for all employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Reports to the Engineering Technical Lead.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (level 8) in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Candidates without a level 8 degree may be considered if they possess extensive relevant experience in a similar engineering role.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related roles in an industrial setting. Familiarity with ISO, FDA, or other regulatory standards depending on the industry.
Technical Skills:
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own.
- Problem-solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Project management: Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- CAD software: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing fixtures, tooling and optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification is a plus.
- Other Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
